Here at HI Technology & Innovation we're building out a brand-new UK Government focused practice, and are keen to hear from individuals who are looking for flexible part-time or full-time UK government focused freelance opportunities (outside IR35).

Providing your professional focus has been IT consulting or technology focused, and you have current active UK government security clearance, then we're keen to hear from you. 

This is an opportunity for individuals with at least the above experience, to get on our radar for upcoming UK Public Sector opportunities, all outside IR35. You should be passionate about technology and public sector work, combined with a proven track record in information technology, IT consulting, software development, technical team leadership, or technical architecture.

Expertise of interest to HI Technology & Innovation

• Technology Leadership: You have overseen IT projects, ensuring alignment with security standards and industry best practices. This often comes with Project Management or Change Management expertise, with an earlier professional career in hands-on software or systems development. You also typically maintain your skills with understanding modern development and AI solutions. This is typically a team leadership role, often client-facing.
• System Development: A hands-on 'doer' you'll either help do some hard-core front or back-end coding, or you'll be leading the design and implementation of secure software and system solutions. In this role, you may also be expert at data related initiatives, data science or machine learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Consulting and Coordination: Experienced in acting as a subject matter expert, and guide, often combined with system and software architecture and design skills. You love collaborating directly with client stakeholders to understand requirements and provide expert guidance on technology solutions. You are our voice, within the client project!
• Security Compliance: Ensure all technological solutions comply with UK government security policies and procedures.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.

Our Minimum Expectations

• Professional experience in information technology, IT consulting, software development, technical team leadership, or technical architecture.
• Possession of one or more UK Government security clearances.
• Demonstrable experience having worked on 1 or more public sector IT project.

• Advanced knowledge of government regulations related to technology and security.
• Proficiency in agile project management methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on secure technology solutions.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
